The process of making an analog mixtape is something of a lost art these day. Today, anyone can create a playlist of easily-available songs without digging through piles of vinyl records, cassettes or CD's, worrying about time constraints, or painstakingly writing out the bands and songs featured on these cassette mixes on a J-card. My name is Anthony King and I am the host of Afterglow Echoplex. I love independent, underground music sub-genres like shoegaze, dreampop, noise-rock, post-rock, post-punk, jangle, twee, goth, darkwave, indie hip-hop, etc. Much like the compilation cassettes and CD-R's of yore, the mixtapes on each of these episodes were painstakingly handcrafted just for you; yes, YOU!
