Donna believed that she wasn’t smart enough, didn’t belong and didn’t fit in. She had lie-based thinking and was getting her identity from what she did, what people said about her and what she had. Growing up Jewish, she had a very strong tight community but only traditions and laws. She had a sense of guilt and shame and not a personal relationship with God. You will hear about her and her husband Jamie’s testimony when he was in law enforcement in DC, while she was a teacher living the American dream. Something was different with them: they listened to the voice of God. This unique and powerful episode will leave you yearning for more of a real intimate relationship with God for you, not anyone else. Like Moses, knowledge doesn’t change our life, an encounter does. God is calling us each to our burning bush moment, the Kairos moment for us to truly know who we are in Christ. Donna states that our being informs our doing.
