I would love to introduce you to a great show on my network called Sinisterhood - a true crime comedy podcast that covers all things creepy and gives you the deep dives and thorough research you want. Best friends and long time comedians Christie Wallace and Heather McKinney cover things like serial killers, disappearances, cults, cryptids, and even do legal deep dives into things like the Murdaugh murders, Britney Spears conservatorship, and the legal drama surrounding Erika Girardi from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Excellent

If you exist on a similar existential plane as Simon's, love obscure knowledge and long form audio ingestion, you'll love this too!
Also every other true crime fan will easily appreciate the Brits talking about all the crazy and mostly familiar cases. 😊

True crime done differently

The Casual Criminalist is a new true crime podcast from Simon Whistler, known from many YouTube channels such as Today I Found Out, Biographics, and Geographics. Stylistically, this podcast is closer to his channel Business Blaze, which is to say that it feels more off-the-cuff, with anecdotes thrown in.
Because of this, it feels more like a talk with a knowledgeable friend, rather than a heavily produced podcast. This probably makes the Criminalist Casual. If this style appeals to you as it does to me, and you are interested in true crime, I can wholeheartedly recommend giving the show a listen.
