As Schumann said, “I began to feel more myself when I wrote the last movement, and was assuredly better....still, it reminds me of dark days.” Today, we'll talk all about this huge sy

Dear Joshua,
I stumbled across your podcast well over a year ago. Ever since, it has enriched my knowledge and understanding of a broad palette of classical music. The way you present the information contained within your podcast, accessible yet in-depth, is astonishing.Having recently graduated from the conservatory, it is amazing to be able to learn directly from a respected conductor. Your podcast inspires me to broaden my horizon, over and over again.

Pure joy!

I love every single episode. Even if it isnt a favourite composer. Joshua teaches you so much! You get to understand how a conductor interprets - what the composer might have meant - how the music is built up - just how to listen to classical music! And live concerts become even more enjoyable. Just pure JOY!

I never write reviews, but this podcast deserves all the praise. Very interesting for musicians as well as people that maybe never listened to classical music.

Best podcast about classical music!

Love this podcast! Great in-depth analysis and fun facts. It’s exactly like Joshua says: it’s for people anyone who loves classical music, works in the field (me) or is just getting ready to dive in to this amazing world (my pupils). It is great material to get people to understand some of the basics in classical music and the to get to know some of the most famous composers! I very much like the interviews with great musicians and teachers and I love the episodes about the less known composers and pieces. Thanks Joshua!

Dear Joshua,
I knew there should be a podcast around which goes deeper into classical music. Finally I found your podcast via google and what a coincidence...I just started with listening to Mahler's 9th after buying the Abbado Box Set a few weeks ago. What a great series of podcast!. Background information, analysis and corresponding extracts. I really love the way these podcasts are set up. It makes listening to the music so much more valuable and interesting, even for me as a non-musically-schooled ethusiast! Thanks!!
