What could be cuter than a young child and a dog together? Yet, it could be a very dangerous situation. This episode begins with a warning about leaving young children alone with a dog even if the child and dog are familiar with each other. https://drsophiayin.com/blog/entry/kids-and-dogs-how-kids-should-and-should-not-interact-with-dogs/
Do you ever wish you had more willpower? It does seem that some people have a lot more of it than others. Psychologist Kelly McGonigal says you probably have more of it than you think and you can create more of it if you want to. Kelly is a lecturer at Stanford University and author of the book The Willpower Instinct: How Self-Control Works, Why It Matters, and What You Can Do to Get More (https://amzn.to/2JqGQ35). Listen as she explains how willpower works and how you can have more of it.
Just about everyone has at least one pair of jeans - and probably more. Jeans are the iconic American garment and have been for decades. While other fashion trends have come and gone there has always been a place for jeans. So where did they come and why have they lasted? Come to think of it, what exactly is denim anyway – how is it different from other fabrics? Journalist James Sullivan, author of the book, Jeans: A Cultural History of an American Icon (https://amzn.to/2DGD45j) joins me to take you on an historical journey from Italy to the American west to a John Wayne movie set to explain the story of blue jeans.

It’s been 2 years I am listening to SYSK without a dull moment. It is amazing how every subject is about something going on in our life no matter what stage of it we’re in. Fun, informative, educational with inspiring guests. I like how the interviews go straight to the point, no waste of time. The ideas and books and other podcasts it led me to know about is priceless. Thank you Mike for always asking the sharp questions, for reading into the minds of your listeners and not holding back on being honest.

Hi Mike, I have listened today to your Podcast no 192 ( not yet on your website but it has been posted on Apple Podcast) and as I am sure you shall agree ... it is the exact same one posted in 2016 under Podcast no 13: “Great Life Hacks to make life simpler”. The only addition to that Podcast are the sponsors and a few footnotes. Just thought this is something you should know that we know because we are not just consumers, we listen to benefit from the shared information and use it. Which means, we pay attention! If it is a re run or remix ...that is ok as long as it is not posted as brand new information, that would not be fair to the loyal audience, let the newcomers browse through the episodes. Just giving unsolicited advice... have a good week. Looking forward to some more interesting conversations. Anamaria, listening from The Hague, Netherlands

Great podcast in the right lane...

Mike has a pleasant voice, and articulates well. His questions are open and very inviting for his well-chosen guests.
This podcast really should be in any podcaster’s list; to hear how it could be done well, very well!

It’s amusement and commercial ‘science’ that might do good in a bar at night, rather than something I find interesting. Furthermore, the narrator’s speech is flat and not nice to listen to. It sounds like a computer, a little like Steven Hawking.

Love this podcast
