Here are some strategies for protecting yourself from toxic positivity:
Don't blame yourself if someone says you're not "happy enough." You might like to remove yourself from the situation and take some time to process your feelings where you feel safe. Use a self-soothing strategy, like soothing touch or a self-compassionate affirmation. Honour your emotions and needs. I've been listening to all episodes of this podcast during the past month, and am now "on track". Which I actually dislike, since now I need to wait a whole week for a new one! However, it will give me time to actually think, rethink and put to practice the tips Rachael gives. I really love the podcast and love to listen to an episode when I need to take a break from work. It functions as a reminder to keep track of how I am feeling and to include some restful moments in my day. I'm currently working on setting some daily goals to reach a few bigger goals, something I've been planning for a long time, but never set through. Thanks!
ps: In my head Rachael had black hair, but I just visited the homepage of her website and was confronted with her being as blonde as can be ;)
