In politics, you’re often told not to get lost in the weeds. But we love the weeds! That’s where politics becomes policy – the stuff that shapes our lives. Every Tuesday and Friday, host Matthew Yglesias is joined by Vox reporters and editors, ProPublica's Dara Lind, and some of the leading minds in policy to dig into the weeds on important national issues, including healthcare, immigration, housing, and everything else that matters. Produced by Vox and the Vox Media Podcast Network.
Entitled white boys who think they can comment on anything.
That latest episode, The Pipeline to Prison, was just so off. That absolutely should've been a conversation that brought in race. Instead, the host spent an hour us-and-themming them away from the issue and grossly misrepresenting the causes of violence in society. It also totally did not do justice to the actual interesting talking points of the guest. Lastly, the host should really try to minimize the amount of 'I mean's and 'you know's in his language. I've unsubscribed.

Silence the phones
Good left wing analysts of politics. Unfortunately the people making the show refuse to silence their phone notifications.

OK slightly irritating now and then
Very good, content-wise. Deep, balanced, actual, rational. Excellent.
But: it tends to be long-winded. Really long.
Pretty much all participants use the word ‘like’ every other sentence. I tried to count but I got fed up. ‘Like’ was used HUNDREDS of times in one podcast, I kid you not. This is silly and sad.
