I was lost but I'm finding myself

I am an American LDS and living in Europe. My husband is dutch and culture clash doesn't even begin to describe my experiences. I always heard growing up "The church is the same everywhere" and for the most part that's true except, the culture of the land does get mixed in. Even in the mormon church. So needless to say after 13 years over here I began to get depressed, loathsome and longing for what I called "a real ward." I began to hate my fellow brothers and sisters and even went inactive for 2.5 years! Out of desperation I was searching in podcasts for "mormon/LDS women" and happened upon this podcast. I LOVE IT!! What have I learned? That would take hours to write. I've learned to except my surroundings and to seriously take on the role of "being about my own business." I now can disagree with something without letting it consume my life and ruining my day. The people that I once hated I can now look at with empathy and realize that, I don't fully understand their struggles and it isn't my task on this earth to "change" or "fix" them. I'm active again in church and have a calling as a young women's president. My anxiety attacks are at their bare minimum and I didn't file the divorce papers. This podcast offers practical help in real life solutions!
