Everything works great except for the fact that Deep Mode doesn’t work while leaving the app. Granted there’s nothing you can do about it due to iOS restrictions.
But features like Landscape and support for Slideover or Splitscreen are still missing. It would be a great help if they could be added for iPad. Maybe it’ll make up at least a little bit for not being able to use Whitelist for apps, even after paying for the app.

It’s a fabulous Gamified Pomodoro timer app, now updated with a Stopwatch functionality. Just missing.. a) ability to set goals b) Goal based reminders. Eg. if I want to study 2hrs every day. We all know that *daily sustained habit* & micro gains is more valuable than Pomodoro timer. Flipd for example does a great job at this.

Loving the app so far. Had one request, could an option be added to sign in using apple ID or Login using Google rather than creating new username/password? Both those options allow me to control the accounts from a central place, and in case of AppleID, the email is proxied which is a great security measure for the user.

Just one request to the developers: Please add in app feature to change the notification sound or the vibration pattern.
When the tree is fully grown, there’s just a small beep which can sometimes be ignored. So its a request.

Well.. it does what it claims to do.. and it’s penalisation for distractions are pretty simple yet effective.. it makes you realise that a momentary lapse in your concentration can really put down all your hard-work in a particular session..
For beginners: start small.. 15-35 minutes is a good session time.

Just on my third day of use, but find this app very effective in promoting a focused way of working. I’ve been able to conduct more deep work in the last three days than in the 7 working days preceding them.
I just wish the app had an alarm that went off when the time set for focused work elapses. That would help make sure that one doesn’t forget to take periodic breaks.

I use this app to study. I’ve tried a couple of pomodoro apps before. This is the best by far.
But there’s an issue after new updates. The forest room crashes as soon as the display turns off. While, planting together, I’ll send a link to my friends to join the room and they join. Before we start planting, if the display turns off, the room is no longer there for me. I am using an iPhone X.

Firstly this is amongst the very very few apps that I’ve ever purchased on the App Store, so I had my reservations before pressing purchase. I really liked the concept of it and it IS indeed helping me focus more. But here are a few suggestions for future versions that I’d love to see:
1. Whitelist on iOS (Pretty Please!)
2. Better Apple Watch integration: The watch app is pretty redundant and wait, there isn’t even an option to start a session directly from the watch. Just why?! Please add that.
3. Timed arrangement of trees: it says timed but I can’t see how.
I hope the Devs see this and add these in the future releases.

The idea of focusing by planting a tree sounds a little bizarre but I can’t for the life of me figure why it works as well as it does. It has been years since I have been using the app and it gets work done.
The UI is clean and stripped down to its essentials. And it serves its purpose.

So this app has really made me realise how much less I was putting in studying. And now i’m improving myself . Just a few suggestions
1) adding a 1-2 minute break option when we have timer for large duration like 1-1.5 hours
2) starting a room individually so that friends who are busy can join in later . For example there is always a 5-10 minutes delay as one of the friends isn’t available or has something to do.
Anyway It’s a great app and I have already gifted it to 2 of my friends and recommended it to many more

I know you are brilliant and I am sure you don't need this app but this review is for those like me who are a little short on patience and constantly getting carried away with phones and other silly things. The implementation of the app is something that helped me push myself a little bit more and I find it really really helpful. Of course this wont make me an overnight success but a small step closer to the goal. Overall I wanna thank the team and the creator for this creativity. Awesome app.

Ever since college started I also developed the habit of picking up my phone whenever a thought crosses my mind but thanks to this app whenever I unlock it shows the plant growing and also has a quote to put you back to work.
I have managed to stay focused for few hours and that has helped me especially since the exams are up close.

I was looking for a tool which can give me timer functionality with naming functionality (tagging). I was using ios native timer to work for certain period of time. I work more effectively when I have timer running. I am kind of procrastinator and it help me in being productive. Also i need to track my productive hour. I track it manually and yes I have a digital record in forest app. I follow The Now Habit guideline for getting rid of Procrastinating habit which is not let me play guilt free nor enjoy the flow of deep work. Forest App provide focusing music which helps me going in flow easily. I hope one day I will use this app for continuously working for 3 hours without distractions. That will be an awesome feeling.
Overall I am really very happy Forest App exist. I know I am not using it for getting rid of our urge to browse app after app mindlessly for hours, which is its primary purpose. But its really effective for my use case also. I know many people is using it for increasing the focus and productivity.

Love love absolutely love this app! I would totally recommend this app to anyone who has an exam deadline coming up and just can’t resist the internet surfing! (I feel you!) It surely makes you stay AT focus and at the meantime you keep collecting rewards so that ACTUAL REAL trees are planted around the world❤️ A truly innovative genius of an app 🌲 🌳 .
The only suggestion I have is to somehow create a White list for iPhone users too as I have some academic apps and feel bad when I can’t open them during my session of focus😕

I’d heard of the pomodoro method and used a couple of apps as well but it never really stuck on until forest ! It imposes the right amount of restriction required to stop you from using your phone !
I always have this smile on my face when I subconsciously reach out to my phone and there’s forest telling me to “ Get Back to Work ! “ haha

Really loved the app so far. My productivity is slowly increasing day by day. Also it is really easy to track how much time we are spending on different things and this makes it easy to plan and schedule things. Overall an amazing app for productivity.

If you are one of those people who can’t help but get distracted in few minutes , this is the app for you. This app helps you to track your productivity throughout the day and help achieve your set daily goals.
But the onus lies on you to complete your set goals and not get distracted even after using this app.

There is something very nice and wholesome about this app :) I’m not the best at disconnecting, but Forest helps. I especially like that there aren’t any complicated settings—press a button and you’re ready to go. Having the count down sure helps too! Would love to see longer durations, though!

Even if you don’t think you use your phone much, use this app to build your attention span. You’ll realise how much you really do use your phone in between tasks. It’s very helpful and has helped me stack many more nuanced learning tasks on top of my basic reading attention span.

I have used several apps to track my time, that I spend focusing on my projects. But I always see myself coming back to Forest, due to its minimalistic approach (time tracking with just the essential features), coupled with the need to work distraction-free, and a psychological reward of planting tress whilst I do it.
I highly recommend this app, for anyone who is serious about “just focus and work on your goals”!
