So great they’ve launched a Fuelwatch ‘integration’ - which is just a link to a website.
Like everything else on the ‘services’ tab, which are just links to websites.
Sadly, this app is just a continuation of the bad digital policies that have persisted despite the establishment of the Office of eGovernment under Carpenter.
Lip service to the digital needs of citizens, delivered with terrible and inconsistent user experience.
Can we please, for the love of all that is holy, actually deliver proper digital services for West Australians.
A proper integration that allows users to choose what Fuelwatch info they see, A proper integration with DoT that gives people to sign in with DoT Direct and get alerts when licenses or rego expires, Removal of Health’s horrible user experiences that make using their services - like RAT registration, or Emergency wait times - from one place.
Heck, even a list of services that’s searchable and model around the topics/life events model used when the updated wa.gov.au was launched.
Anything that’s better than this current next to useless excuse for eGovernment services in WA.

great app when able to access which only happens on home wifi. Does not work when needed to enter venues - home screen just hangs on circle going round and round. Have checked with telstra and no issue with phone or settings (they were very helpful) as works fine for all other apps on phone when not on wifi, so they state it must be a Developer issue and to wait for an update that addresses this issue.

Far too tiresome. Will not be using. Even after the lengthy and unwanted business of using a Federal Gov identity app it requires more steps to perhaps be usable. Recommend don’t bother. Use SafeWA and Vax Cert.

I know a lot of people are having dramas setting this app up but it took me about 10 minutes and I didn’t have too many problems. Just needed a little bit of patience. What I really want to see now that we are starting to get more and more exposure sites around the State is the ability to go back in the app to past check ins. I have just had an experience where I had visited an exposure site, but I was having trouble remembering what time I was there. My bank statement confirmed I was there on the day but it didn’t give me a time. Anyway, hours later, after going through phone and text message history, my husband and I think we’ve worked out that I was there roughly 5 minutes before the exposure time…!! Bit too close for comfort. It would make it so much easier for the user if they could just scroll back through their check-in history on the app. I don’t want to be waiting around to see if I get a phone call from the health department. Let people be responsible for their own well-being.
EDIT: Thanks for adding it into the next app update, hopefully we won’t ever have to use it again! :D

The app only seems to cater for “some” people. Have read you can not register with it if you don’t have a passport?
Personally I have a myGov ID attached to my employment email (for required government accesses), which I will/can not use for ServiceWA purposes. I am not going to set up a second myGov ID with personal email as I would need to be logging in/out of myGov accounts continually.
I lodged this query with WA Gov. and their advice was to just keep using the other methods (derrr). Why bother with a half useful app!? 🤷♂️

Using the Service WA app we’re having to show our COVID-19 certificate to strangers.
With that said, why does the app forcibly display our ‘date of birth’, especially when this information is not a requirement to prove we’re vaccinated.

This application is well designed and works well. It was easy to setup, works effectively and efficiently. I am unable to understand the low ratings for this app as well the MyGovID app. Well to make it work efficiently I watched the videos for both the apps. Did the entire process as requested. I would suggest the following additional steps to be followed. 1. Go to Apple store or Google store depending on your phone system. Download the MyGovID app. Once you download it close your phone and then after 15 secs reboot it. Follow the steps to obtain your digital identity. 2. Once you have your digital identity set up, download WA Safe App. Once you download the app, switch off the phone and then reboot the phone after 15 secs. There after, follow the steps as advised in the video. Its safest and the best way to keep family and society safe. I believe all the bugs have been fixed and so far this app has worked well. Can’t fault it.

The ServiceWA app is a joke. I tried multiple times to login into the MyGovID and prove my identity with no results. I put my drivers licence, Medicare card and visa information and I’m still required to provide an Australian passport (I’m on a visa, which I’ve already used as prove of identity, and still get asked for a Australian passport? If I had a passport I wouldn’t have a visa). Besides that, there is no help on how to change the set up and change the strength level. The website is useless and keep me going in circle between websites, ServiceWA app and MyGovID app without results.

The set up process of this app is so infuriating and annoying I wanted to scream. How hard is it to just create a single app, that does all you need and want, and doesn't require consenting to multiple contracts that your never going to read and downloading other apps just to get it to work. On iOS you need to have both the medicare app and the mygovID app in order for this to be completed.
The thing that made me most angry is that the app doesn’t automatically have your proof of vax in it. After logging in. You need to import it, and on iPhone it refused to import it from safari, and chrome, so I had to do it through the medicare app. Who designed this awful app that can not IMPORT FROM SAFARI! And if it is a known issue, then why not just tell people to import from the medicare app in the first place!!!!!!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡

Managed to get everything set up in under 45 minutes despite having a 2-year-expired passport and expired Medicare care (with Medicare having my 2-addresses-ago on file). Load time and switching between views is exceptionally fast (and i’m only on an iPhone 6s!) React Native or what? My dear app developers, don’t listen to the haters; pat yourselves on the back as hard as you can.

Hi,
I am an Australian living and working in Singapore. I will be visiting Perth regularly to see family. I have all my stuff set up on this app which is great - well done (and it wasn’t that hard to set up).
However, on my last visit to Perth I could not check in digitally using this app (or the previous Safe WA app) because I have a Singaporean SIM card and phone number.
Can you please fix this (if haven’t already) as numerous places don’t have manual check-in set up well and I’m sure I’ve forgotten to ask in some places. I am not carrying two phones just to use one of them to check in. Nor will other visitors from overseas.

As a carer of my husband I would like to be able to import a copy of his Covid-19 certificate to my ServiceWA app. His name comes up automatically on my ServiceWA app as it did with SafeWA but when we go places together & only take my phone we now have to carry a phone or paper copy to be able to show proof of his certificate. As his condition is making it more difficult for him to press small buttons on his phone it is easier to only go round with my phone.

Possibly the worst app I have experienced. It takes you round the mulberry bush multiple times, there are broken links, misleading instructions, you need to download the equally bad MyGovID app (choose one of the following but there’s only the one choice) and go round that mulberry bush a few times as well.
The icing on the cake? It imported the WRONG vaccination certificate, the second shot one, not the latest booster. My only hope is that anyone who asks to see my certificate has been through the same bs and thus understands the problem.

I so wanted to support this app, but after many attempts it won’t install on my iPhone. It is on my iPad but nobody wants to see it on that. Plus, I’ve had my booster jab but there isn’t a way to update the certificate to reflect that so it has old information on it

Just downloaded and put all my private information took ages to collect information and submitted everything. Thought I can show my vaccinations certificate straightaway from this apps without any issues but regrettably I have to sign in again My Gov through this app to access my certificate. So why should I use this unusual app for !!!! Just for COVID-19 news updates!!!!
I can go directly my gov to get my certificate and find any news updates through other sources. If possible rate zero.

The app seems to work most of the time. There have been a few times I’ve had to switch back to the old app or manually sign in.
The biggest flaw seems to be in the ‘services’ tab. The ‘exposure locations’ link takes you to the government page NOT Healthy WA. The government page DOES NOT get updated nearly as regularly.

When you click to book a COVID vax it directs you to the Roll Up For WA website, where the links to book a vaccination are broken. When you click ‘book’ it just refreshes the page - it’s not actually possible to book a vaccination. The most important thing this app could offer - making it easy for people to book vaccines and boosters - and it doesn’t even do that. So poor for a government-run app and website.

I have an iphone 6 and can’t get the app to work due to a error type OID003. The error message weirdly provides the ATO phone number. After finding the correct number for ServiceWA installation problems, I was on hold for an hour and finally got a call back almost 12 hours later to be told the app doesn’t work for iphone 6s. The person I spoke to said they had been inundated with similar calls and hoped the glitch would be fixed one day. Disappointing as I am fully supportive of using ServiceWA and had already set up the myriad of other necessary apps as well as handing over my ID information.

Trying to download the app for a (hopeful) future trip to WA to visit family. Pretty reflective of the full experience of dealing with WA throughout this entire pandemic. Why on earth would I need to download a separate app that wants details of several personal documents and information (literally enough to have an identity stolen) to be considered a real enough human just to upload a vaccine certificate for QR check ins. I parted with my licence and Medicare info but once realising that wasn’t enough and needing to know what the weather was on the day I was born would allow me to use the app, I just gave up. If by some miracle I make it into the state sometime this decade then they’ll just have to be ok with viewing my certificate from the Medicare app and QR check ins will have to go in the bin.

I had my Covid-19 booster last week and want it naturally to show up in this app. Does it? No automatic update so I tried and tried to update my vaccination status in this app without success. Just shows my second jab. I tried updating, deleted old certificate and updated, deleted old certificate, unlinked to MgGov and shut down, restarted and relinquish/updated but no joy. :(
Should not have to do manually but can’t even get that to work. Tried everyday least twice!

Trying to set up this app is like fishing through a rusty toolbox to get something to work. Most of the items you need like gtg , Covid certificate etc; you can run on separate apps. It is very clunky getting authorisation coded from federal departments for state application. Messed around for 20 mins but gave it away. Links not working and it’s a bit of a dogs breakfast really.
Of this is to be the only method of entry to venues then the economy will suffer more.
Needs to be simplified and logical.

Prior to setting up Service WA I used the Safe WA app, my vaccination certificate was in my Apple wallet, and the WA Government Covid-19 webpage saved to my browser favourites. The Service WA app doesn’t add anything to what I already had. It would be great if the app held updates and information within it instead of just being a hub of links that redirect you to your web browser. I can see it being helpful if the inbox was a space for receiving information on changes to restrictions, details for upcoming press conferences, and other daily updates with the ability to receive and customise notifications for these updates

I’m mostly reviewing this so I can make some suggestions for a future update. Yes, it’s fiddly to set up, but to get the variety of functionality and security that’s going to happen. Two things I would like to suggest for the future. 1) I’d like to be able to see my check in history at least for the last fortnight. 2) Being able to manually add a visit would also be helpful. I don’t often miss checking in (usually it’s when I’m distracted browsing) bit it would be good to be able to add those details later.

Finally an app that has everything covid in one place: the check in scanner (no need for SafeWA anymore), your vaccination cert, links to all the key info websites (like exposure sites, lockdown info, etc), and the G2G tool.

Setting it up is really straightforward if you already use MyGovID and have it connected to a few key things, like MyGov and Medicare. If you haven’t done that for other reasons already, there’s a bit of set up.

But basically, you’re just proving your identity like you need to do for everything else in the world. Simple enough of you have your medicare card and any two of passport, drivers license, birth cert ready. And a little bit of app-switching to set up MyGovID one time, means you don’t have to do that stuff all over again next time you need to register for something gov.

Some less tech-familiar people will probably need a bit of support, though. And I can’t comment on G2G, because we haven’t used that part yet.

If you have an iPhone 6 don’t bother. It comes up with an error message and the ATO phone number to contact. What a joke. I’ve emailed and contacted the helpline. No reply via email and when I spoke to a person on the helpline there response was a scoff and laugh. So there wipes out a chunk of the population of potential users. Trying to do the right thing throughout this whole pandemic and it gets you nowhere. Get jabbed three times and it still won’t be enough. You want people to use it, make it usable. And as far as every state has a different app, are we one country or what? Do other large countries segregate their population with different rules. Not download a different app depending on what state you are in. One country, one app. I know Mr McGowan would prefer we don’t leave and no one comes here but have we turned into a Communistic/dictatorship state in an attempt to cover up the failing health system and fill people with fear to hide and delay the real issues. In two years the only thing that has been done is close borders and make vaccination mandatory and now bullying people to make them have it otherwise they can’t go out. Is it not that individuals choice to put themselves at risk if they choose not the have the jab. This app is just the icing on the cake.

To set up this service, you will need to set up your myGovID first, which is quite easy. Yes, a little bit clunky and confusing at first, but not as bad as people are making it out to be. It appears all of the Boomers, Karens and Old Farts are struggling because they don’t understand technology. That’s not the app’s fault, by the way.

It works but i cant check in unless i am connected to a network and if i have no data wifi how am i able to check in not all business provide free wifi so its not always possible to check in which will make things difficult please find a way to check in offline and ill be impressed and it will raise my rating and my review

This free app centralises and integrates vaccination status from Medicare/MyGov, check-in functionality from SafeWA, as well as G2G Pass. The ID verification process will always be tricky between Federal and State platforms, and having previously set up all other apps and MyGov ID etc, I found the process of setting up easy and quick. All done in a matter of minutes. Thanks WA Gov and app developers for helping keep us COVIDSAFE!

The interface of the App is fantastic. It’s clear, well guided and explained. I’ve used the Checkin Apps for pretty much all the other states, and WA’s one is way ahead of those. All the services are in one app; it’s simply stunning and effortless to install. 5 well deserved stars.

I recently wrote a review which that issue of being able to access the ServiceWA app without a passport verified on the MyGovID app has finally been resolved. However, you still can’t add your vaccination certificate to the ServiceWA app unless you have a passport. Not everyone in WA has a passport or has wanted to travel outside of WA - can the government please recognise that not everyone has the privilege to travel or has wanted to travel or even bothered to attempt to get a passport in the last two years due to strict border control! This is very frustrating and does not take into account those who don’t have this form of ID that is not required unless you are wanting to travel internationally which again is not something that everyone wants to do. This restricts people and it makes it difficult for people to comply with government policy and mandates as they would like to.
Bumped up to 2 stars as at least you can now login without a passport and access the SafeWA portion of the app.

I’d like to see a feature where you are able to go back and see more than your last check in. Even if you’d all be able to store the info for a month or even 2 weeks. I believe the Service Vic and most other states offer this feature. Not all banks show the time or even the correct date so being able to check on the app would be helpful

Spent about 30 minutes setting this up - needing to pull my passport out - downloading myGovID - having to link vaccine cert via Medicare app which didn’t work then hacking it through mygov website- which isn’t even a listed option - then setting up G2G Having to click through at least 6 ‘I agree’ small print privacy statements And now the check in component doesn’t let me check in my kids… even this was functionality in safe WA app Old people are struggle badly getting this to work and it’s compulsory to go to shops now Well the government finally got their ‘Australia Card’ 40 years later! Very ugly colours on the app icon to top the whole thing off, looks like something out of soviet russia! Should be red Pilbara / darling ranges colour country on blue sea. Nice to have things in one place though and don’t even think about using this for political propaganda on the summary page, it needs to remain purely functional and politically objective

Controls were a bit buggy and lag can make you die few times, but the replay value is there and I imagine this will make a big breakthrough in the speedrunning scene. The new omnicron dlc was obviously introduced to keep everything fresh, but it’s similarities with older versions of the game are seen as a bit lazy.
All in all, I ducking hate this game, why can’t it be over already? It’s been 2 years

I am really pleased this app has been released before the boarders open. I found setting the app up really easy, I didn’t even need a 15 year old to help me. I think the key is to have a few key pieces of ID on hand. I didn’t have to wait in a queue at any time.

Wow. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Not in terms of back-end, that all went fine, more the toggling between multiple open apps, logins and codes, entering DOB 3 separate times, verifying ID through ANOTHER government app…And developers, when you ask for a number, provide a keypad, when you ask for an email address, provide shortcuts such as .com, underscores, @ symbols etc. It all adds up.
And this is someone trying to do the right thing, with all the scanning, storing and consent it all felt very Orwellian, esp. the multi-coloured facial recognition scan. Difficult for non-techies, off-putting for anyone hesitant about having the government in their lives. Like the PM.

Can you please add photo ID requirements to show at venues and can you also add the check-in history which would include at least seven days so you can see where you checked in and what time you checked in so when you check the locations you can tell where are you there at date or time ?thank you

Had to set it up for 5 different family members. Yes you have to have myGovID set up first (you only need standard strength level) but once that is done, it was very simple to link ServiceWA. Heads up though, it only works on iOS 14 and above (it currently says 10 and above), so if you have an older model iPhone running on an iOS below 14, you may get a linking error (e.g OID003).

Whilst I understand the intricacies of sharing PII information linked to your vaccination status. I’m not really sure why you need to download/install/set-up BOTH the Medicare & MyGovID apps, before you can start using this app (from memory I didn’t need to do the same for the Services NSW app). IMO this is will be a major blocker to a lot of people adopting Service WA.

I look forward to the gateway to a new civilisation this app opens up. Was able to link vaccination certificate and SafeWA checkin with no issues at all, however keep in mind you need to have myGov ID set up to log into anything on this new app. The issue is with the g2g tab, when selecting log in or create g2g account, am able to accept on the next screen where it lists how your information is used, then it takes you to a screen where it asks you to confirm your email and continue, the text box where you need to input your email to confirm appears to be broken as it’s not possible to select it at all, and the continue button is also broken, the only options you can click on this screen are the X to exit and the back button. This would suggest that there may be a bug/broken link with the g2g pass tab on the app. Would love if this could be reviewed and the bug/broken link fixed, other than that it’s a half decent app, I can imagine anyone who isn’t technologically literate would have issues setting it up though.

How is this still not available? It would definitely assist in working out if we were at an exposure location when Covid-19 enters the state in its droves. Please sort this out.

There was a lot of stuff to agree to when setting the app up which felt unnecessary, and I suspect other people that don’t already have MyGovID (not to be confused with a MyGov account - something entirely different) might have a much tougher time getting set up, but it all went through fine for me. I don’t like the fact that my Covid certificate shows valid from the date of my booster, rather then saying valid from the date of my second shot (it also doesn’t say whether the person has had the booster or only 2 shots which feels like a bit of a flaw).

Requires MyGovID and Medicare express set up BEFORE you can register and use this. Clumsy set up and failed first time I tried. Others will give up. Non techie people won’t bother. It’s trying to do too much when an update to everyone’s SafeWA would have been enough to add a Covid certificate.

It’s nice to finally have it all in one place, and I’m sure we will appreciate it.
But it would be nice to integrate it a lot more without the external urls opening an in-app browser or your devices browser, in future it would be nice to integrate things like daily cases, and exposure locations into the app it’s self
Also as for the logging in with MyGov for different services, wouldn’t it be easier to have a single time to login with MyGov and if your Medicare and MyGovID is linked to your MyGov it would then just grab all the information like Vaccination Status and your identity information, it would definitely make it easier for people who struggle to do these type of things
Overall very well done application though!
