Canary is home security made simple. The Canary app works with our security devices to connect your home to your phone, allowing you to view and protect those that matter most.

From time to time, the Canary auto-mode switching feature may briefly access your GPS in order to have high confidence in your location. Battery life is very important to us and we do many things to ensure we use it sparingly. Please be aware that continued use of GPS services running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Niets meer mogelijk; camera’s gaan weg
Helaas alleen nog maar live beelden te kijken. Niets meer terug te kijken. Alarm meldingen zijn uitsluitend nog te horen. Jammer want ik heb veel geld betaald voor mijn camera’s. Het leek zo mooi. Nu is het niets meer. De mooie beloftes worden niet waar gemaakt. Het gaat alleen nog maar om abonnementen. De camera’s gaan weg. Eufy camera’s zijn bijvoorbeeld zeer veel beter en bieden wel alles, ook zonder abonnement. En zo zijn er nog meer merken.

Afscheid
Jarenlang erg tevreden met mijn 2 camera’s nu de service is beperkt en plotseling niet meer kosteloos is ga ik op zoek naar een ander systeem. Wel erg jammer mijn investering van 4 jaar geleden koste toen €400,- dat is dus €100,- per jaar.
Ook reageert de Canary voortaan op vliegen terwijl ik de modus People only heb aanstaan.
Ik was erg tevreden maar ben nu zeer teleurgesteld, voor mij geen aanrader meer maar op zoek naar een ander systeem.

App working very slow or not at all
Since the new look and feel of the app I’m very disappointed about the workability of the canary app.
As a premium user I was very happy with the service and the app. But recently after the big update the app looks different but very slow!
Please fix it back to the previous version please.

Since update only problems with premium service
I don’t get notifications. When I’m home it thinks I’m away and visa versa. The look and feel of the app has changed in a bad way.
Conclusion: it doesn’t do what it should do: protect and monitor my house and inform me.
This is the last year I will use Canary Premium

Time to move on….
I’ve been using Canary for years now. Crystal clear image and good night vision. However, Canary is downgrading its free services over time. At first, all services were free but at this point I cannot look further back than a few hours (was 24h). So Canary is forcing me to premium service ($10 p/m). Also, way back they announced to support Apple Homekit and this never happened. Therefor I will be on the lookout for a camera without subscription and support of Homekit.

Kan alleen maar 3 uur terugkijken nu ipv 24 uur.
Voorheen tevreden met de service van Canary, waarbij 24uur terugkijken mogelijk was. Sindskort is dit nu 3 uurtjes geworden.. jammer. Consumenten moeten tegenwoordig voor alles aan abonnement nemen…

Slechte app
Sinds kort kun je nog maar tot 3 uur terug beelden kijken (was 1 dag), tenzij je een abonnement neemt. Ook de registratie van wie er thuis is en niet werkt steeds minder. Camera zelf is prima, maar zou hem zeker niet aanraden. Is voor ons nu een miskoop.

Wordt nu verplicht om een nieuwe iphone te kopen, terwijl hoj nog prima is of om mijn (dure) Canary niet meer te gebruiken! Wat een waardeloos bedrijf!

Beeldkwaliteit slechter geworden
Ligt het aan mij of is de kwaliteit van de live view ook bar slecht geworden? Volgens mij had ik vroeger haarscherp beeld maar nu alleen nog maar schokkerige bewegingen. Dacht steeds dat het aan onze wifi lag, maar nu de camera met een netwerkkabel is verbonden is het nog steeds erg slecht.
Was eerst heel tevreden met de camera en de app, maar nu niet meer.

Love Canary hate the service
I love my Canary but please add HomeKit support. After the service updates the free membership changed to short clips that are saved for 24 hours and this was full clips for 24 hours. Now you are forced to buy a membership.

Stopped being good
Het is een fantastisch camera met goede app, echter recente update beperkt functionaliteit (downgrade van bestaand product). Alleen als je abonnement neemt, dan krijg je volledige functionaliteit. Je wordt er gewoon ingeluisd. Echt een rotstreek, waardoor ik van mening ben dat het van topproduct terug gaat naar waardeloos product. Ik heb dit ook aan Canary zelf teruggekoppeld, maar dat blijft bij vriendelijke mail dat ze de feedback zullen delen en korting willen geven op abo. Daarnaast blijft verkrijgbaarheid nieuwe modellen in Nederland slecht en voor veel te hoge prijzen.

Moving features behind paid subscription
Although it’s a good camera I would recommend buying Canary products as they have just moved features previously free behind a paid subscription plan. ‘Night mode’, the main reason to own these products, is now available only when you pay them €15/month. Questions about this are not answered. Extortionist business model as I can now throw out these expensive cameras.

Don't buy this, it's a fraud! This company isn't reliable at all. You should NOT risk to let them have a look into your private domain! They change terms and force you to pay a $10 monthly membership after buying the device. They advertised with 'no monthly fees' in the first place. Total scam, again don't trust this company!

One of the best devices I have purchased I the last several years (actually I purchased a second device recently). High quality image, notifications on my iPhone, quality recordings and now with the Night mode it automatically sends me a signal if there is any activity downstairs while I am sleeping. Excellent. Only small issue is that connecting takes a bit long when you are having a higher latency connection. Thanks

Werkt goed zelfs met kat
Via crowdfunding gekocht, toendertijd nog zonder abo, systeem werkt erg goed en is ookgoed in te stellen op meldingen. Video haarscherp, live kijken mogelijk, privacy mode aanwezig, video downloadbaar. Ben zeer tevreden

Please switch off the LED!
I really want to be able to turn the LED light off while the canary is armed. The light attracts attention from intruders, especially at night, which I don't want.
I also want to be able to receive push messages while the iPhone's 'don't disturb' mode is activated at night. Because these push messages are worth waking up for. I don't know if this can be fixed.. But I would love that!

Thereis still a lot to improve in the software (e.g. auto-siren and better video), but the current version is a good start.

App does not work
When trying to set up an account the app fills in the country code alright. The same country code however is also filled in in the smartphone number field. This information cannot be changed into the real number. Result: the app does not allow you to finish the setup of an account. So the Canary you waited for for almost 2 years can still not be used. A shame! No matter whether you run iOS 7 or 8. The problem stays the same.
