Altijd tevreden geweest over ClassPass, maar laatste tijd echt drama! Ze laten je abonnement gewoon doorlopen met COVID, ook al krijg je geen nieuwe credits. Telefonisch zijn ze niet bereikbaar en gaan totaal niet in op de vragen die ik stel. Het is echt verschrikkelijk, niet lid worden.

ClassPass’s lack of customer service is illustrated by the fact that they haven’t responded to any of these bad reviews. In my case, too, my subscription was continued despite plenty of efforts to cancel it. They are hard to reach, can’t be reached by phone, and the app requires me to review every single class I attend. On top of that, when taking a break from ClassPass, you are charged a €79 fee if you ever want to reactivate your account. I’m off to OneFit, too.

Bad customer service and UX design

During my trial they offered me a membership of 59 euros for 80 credits (0,73 cents/credit). That membership was the reason for me to get classpass. After my trial, that specific membership was gone and I only could get an offer of 79 euros for 70 credits (1,13 euro/credit) or 99 euros for 95 credits (1,04 euro/credit). Which both is less beneficial for the client.
They don’t care about the customer and only want to get more money. When I got in contact with them, I could only speak to a robot. I were told that there was nothing they could do for me. You also have to pay more credits if you have multiple visits at the same location.
The app itself lacks good user experience. You’ll get lost in it very quickly.

Lots of tricks to make money of you. Didn’t like offered classes either.
- Signed up a day before for the wrong class, had to pay €8 late-fee because I didn’t (couldn’t) cancel within 24hours.
- Have to chat with a chatbot in order to cancel subscriptions, just let me hit cancel button and be done with it!
- Pricing Packages are unclear. Making it seem your ‘still’ on a free account while it’s about to cost €45
- after each class, you’re required to rate that gym, without option to not leave a review, to boost their metrics

Insanely shady company, took my money and refused to remove my data

Removing my account was only possible through a chat bot that didn’t read my messages, only spewed out upselling offers. It is NOT possible to remove your account without consent of ClassPass. How is that even legal?
After asking them six times (through chat and e-mail) they couldn’t confirm whether they removed my e-mail adress, bank account details and other personal information from their database.
On top of that, they took €49 from my bank account for the subscription that I never agreed with. I only wanted the free trial, and I never explicitly agreed to silently letting my plan carry over to one of their most expensive plans.
The thing is, from a legal standpoint they probably didn’t do anything wrong. From an ethical standpoint though, they are the worst criminals I have ever seen in any company.

The classes I want to attend are always fully booked. App is malfunctioning often. I booked a class, got confirmation in the app and the next day it was gone. Also, there is no customer support to in the app, so when it’s malfunctioning you’re left out in the cold. When you want to cancel you have to go through an annoying chat where they try to upsell you. Basically a big waste of time and money.

I really like the range of classes but I really dislike that you are forced to review your last studio before you can proceed to use the app. 1. It’s a frictional user experience 2. It doesn’t give a good representation of the quality of the classes bc I will just give a rating to get rid of this screen (usually just 5 stars), which you see reflected in artificially high scores for studios. Defeats the purpose of reviews. OneFit is much better for that - I would take the time to give honest rating write a thoughtful review to help others and would rely on them for selection. Maybe think of another way to incentivize users to leave a review? Thank you!

I have had nothing but bad experiences with this app. Every class I have attended I have been wrongfully charged for missing and now I am being told that I am charged for a late cancellation when there was no notification of this in the app. Confusing layout, buggy system and they will try to charge you for things with no explanation. Stay away! Use onefit instead

I never write reviews, but I found this really bad. I actually enjoyed the app and its services, but my view of it completely changed when I wanted to cancel my subscription. You can’t just click “cancel plan”. They won’t cancel your plan unless you talk with someone from customer services!!! I don’t even know if that complies with EU data directives.
A strong suggestion for the classpass employees: don’t make people do this, especially when they have not been warned beforehand that they have to talk with someone to cancel their plan, and at least a day before the last day of the plan... Why would you do that.

The one month trial is actually free. You have to chat with someone online to cancel. They offer you a discount to try and persuade you to stay (tip for those actually wanting to stay).
For those wanting the paid subscription: the amount of credits for a class varies per week. Sometimes if more than 4 classes a month are taken, classes become ‘more expensive’ in number credits.

Awful app! Not transparent, hidden taxes and extra costs, very pushy marketing and annoying points system. Far too complicated for a fitness app. It cost me a lot of energy to cancel. First you need to go through an annoying chat where they offer you a number of their products, if you insist enough you get a confirmation that your membership is cancelled. Its unbelievable that such an unfriendly service exists. Brrr!
