- Background refresh enhancements

- Fixed some widget issues where the wrong podcast could be shown

- Fixed an accessibility issue where you couldn't close the Sleep Timer and Effects dialogs easily

- Accessibility no longer reads the podcast name for an episode when you're on the podcast page

One feature that would be nice to have, is to select episodes to download to the Apple Watch, from the phone app.

Since the last update my podcast feed doesn’t show all the latest episodes. When I compare the Pocketcast feed to that of the Appel Podcasts app I can see that there are episodes missing.

PocketCasts has been my favorite podcast app for a long, long time. There was only one thing some other app(s) had that PC for not and that was standalone playing on Apple Watch. This update seals the grave for other apps in my opinion, unless they keep buying exclusive rights to publish popular podcasts, which is not what podcasting is about, but hey.

Good job Pocketcasts!

I’ve tried all of the top podcast apps and have settled on Pocket Casts. It is such a beautiful app and the Filter system makes it easy to sort all your podcasts into sortable playlists.

The Apple Watch app works really well. You can do pretty much everything in the watch app that you can do on the phone apart from searching for podcasts. You can skip chapters, delete episodes by marking them as played, add to up next.

Pocket Casts have said that they are planning offline Apple Watch support in a future release. This would make the app pretty much perfect.

wise the best podcast app out there and with Chromecast support also really handy, however it has it’s downsides:

- recently (end of Feb. ‘20) crashed a few times and simply couldn’t reopen the app anymore. It only worked when latest version installed

- the serious lack of filters for sorting a list e.g. Downloads is absurd. You seriously need to extend this with e.g.:

- sort by podcast

- manual sort

- shortest or longest time

- sort A - Z title (new to old or old to new)

Until then I will stick with iCatcher Podcast Player which is also pay ones and constantly update their app. The UI is not as good but it is stable and has amazing filter options

I’m absolutely in love with Pocket Casts! There is one niche area where I think a lot can be won. Right now more and more people are using wireless headphones paired to their respective apple watches during sports/fitness. Apple Podcast doesn’t properly sync between your phone and watch and discourages users to actually listen to podcasts while connected to their watch.

By solving this issue, I think a lot more fitness focussed users will end up investing in Pocket Casts as you’ll be the only app in this space that actually properly supports offline podcast listening on the Apple Watch.

I find this to be the best and the most logical podcast app. Well designed, fast, full featured. Very happy with it. I only feel like it could be a tiny bit more battery friendly, although that’s hard to compare with other podcast apps because I deleted those.

Although I like the look and feel and customization and search options I found the synchronizing features very underwhelming for an app of this price.

It doesn’t auto import existing podcast as other apps do: Public Radio or Overcast.

It does sync between devices after creating a profile, however, filters or downloads are not updated. In my case this happened while trying to sync from my iPhone to my iPad.

I look forward to seeing improvements on profile synchronization across devices!

Unfortunately the app keeps randomly pausing in my car during Bluetooth playback. Issue was mentioned multiple times already on reddit and through the bug report form. Had to switch to overcast because of this bug. Please fix!

I’m very impressed by Pocket casts. It’s so much easier to navigate than the maze of Apple podcasts. Something that makes using this even more pleasant is that you can set up custom filters, and that gives me the ability to sort my podcasts. I’m very satisfied, and will keep using this app every day.
