Very disappointed
Be cautious about the voting system. Many profiles participating in the voting seem suspicious. After checking several, their profile pictures appear fake, and the works they claim as their own are clearly sourced from stock photo websites. This raises concerns about the credibility of the platform

Nice game but very poor technical performance
The idea for this game is very nice but by the time it has become more and more a game where it’s more about tactics than about photography. The platform GS uses is technically regular unstable. This makes playing more like a lottery. Beside this GS gives the impression that they are more interested in the in app purchases than in player satisfaction.

Zwarte balk
Ik heb sinds een tijdje een zwarte balk en een reclamebalk op het scherm. Helaas is daar niet meer mee te werken. Jullie vertelden me een maand geleden dat jullie je van die zwarte balk bewust zijn en eraan gewerkt wordt. Ik hoop dat jullie het snel opgelost krijgen, anders moet ik helaas afhaken van mijn favoriete website. Overigens iedereen die klaagt dat jullie alleen maar uit zijn op geld verdienen wil ik tegenspreken. Ik ben Guru geworden zonder 1 cent uit geven 😉 Ik geef maar 2 ** omdat de balk er al een maand inzit.

Not as great anymore
I used to love this app. But i feel like the pop-ups are totally overkill. Cant even browse or add new photos in peace. Not to mention you need a lot of “keys” to enter different challenges if you want to make sure you’ll get enough votes -> to win -> to level up.
Also, the voting system is really easy to cheat just to refill your exposure meter. That way a lot of great photos don’t get the exposure they deserve.

Unfortunately this app is all about getting you to buy all sorts of ‘packages’ to promote your photo. Very aggressive, in-your-face pop-ups all the time you open the app with ‘special offers’. Too bad.

Deleted
They delete your whole account as soon as someone is jealous and report your picture (without any proof) for copyright. When you ask gGurushot for proof, they can’t... All your work for nothing.

The worst photography app
After this feedback I am for sure deleting this app forever because it has been the most disappointing experience that I ever had with a “photography app” ever so far. You should curate better the work of the users and take better control of the follow purpose of the people that register themselves in your app as a “photographer“. I found pornographic pictures that nothing had to be with the contests and received provocative comments on my artistic work from people that clearly don’t understand anything about the art of photography. Is sad how you misuse this artistic expression on your app. I would never recommend it or use it again in my life. 0/5 stars.

For its purpose it is a good platform
I joined gurushots 1,5 years ago and have been exhibited throughout the world almost 40 times so I am happy. But lately there is too much pop-ups, it is getting to commercial which is a pity. I worked real hard to become a guru to be able to make my own challenges. In practice you never see your challenges go public. No feedback on them, no way to see in what stage they are. Adding new guru+ levels might have been a good idea but with all this nagging to buy stuff it is getting less and less interesting to compete. Also the contests are costing more than what you can win so that’s a joke. Bring back the vote for stuff. It did cost the makers more but it did help to interact more personally.

Too much “events” and other unnecessary stuff
This was a pretty good app for playing with photos. Now “events” at the startup are awful and you can’t click them away! I want to see my account at logging in, as it was before, not these adds and events. It’s not good for usability.

I really enjoy to play with this app
It gave me the having fun in making photos back.
I almost become a guru is just needed some point that would be there in the next day after a few competions where done but they kicked me off with no reason!
And no respons on my email to them!
I could be a good app but if you dont spend money and you are a guru they just kick you off and delete your account where you worked hard for!

Daily rewards is vanished!
The challenge is quite good but 2 days ago my daily rewards ( the orange box on the right) is vanished and I should pay money to buy some fill , exposure and, keys!!!!!!

Er moet gewoon dik geld worden verdiend.
In het begin was ik erg enthousiast en steeg al vrij snel op de ladder naar de ‘guru’ status.
Echter zoals bij veel leuke apps zit er voor de ontwikkelaar maar 1 ding achter en dat is gewoon dik geld verdienen. En dus moet je op den duur om verder te komen fills, swaps en keys gaan kopen om in de competitie te blijven.
Daarnaast is de hele app op de schop gegaan wat het er niet beter op heeft gemaakt.

No notifications since last update
Since last update of bug fixes i can’t see my notifications anymore.
It does show that i have them, but when selecting the notifications page it will turn out blank (refreshing does nothing either)

App stop spontaan tijdens stemmen
De app is na upgrade naar IOS 12 al meerdere keren spontaan gestopt tijdens het stemmen. Als je de app weer start verschijnt het bericht ‘Something went wrong’

Good idea.. not too happy with how it works
The idea is great, but the execution is pretty bad. The idea of having photographers share pictures from all over the world and “competing with eachother” is very nice, but it just doesn’t work in this format.
The main issue is that the votes are coming from other photographers (that’s good).. the bad thing is, is that they are also trying to “be the best”.
In order to “be the best” you need to get your photo’s seen and voted on. By voting on other pictures you fill up a little “exposure” gauge.. meaning, the more you vote, the more your own pictures will get seen in those voting lists. Meaning that most of the votes that you will get on your pictures, are just random votes of other people that vote to keep that gauge full, not because they actually like your picture.. So..... quality or a nice picture has very little to do with it....
Not to mention that you can pay money to either boost your pictures higher up or fill up that voting gauge to get higher on the voting list to get more votes on your pictures. And for what?.. you don’t even win money. You just win more credits to spend on vote boosters and such to rig the game and voting even more..
Sometimes you can win places for your pictures in a galleries all over the world, that is kinda cool!! But... knowing you only got there because you “worked” this app in such ways that you’re only really there because you managed to get the most random votes. Probably not really because of the quality of your image.. kinda makes it a victory with a bad taste..
I guess it’s mainly nice to have an app give you challenges of what to photograph. So you can go out into the world armed with your camera to chase down the subjects that are mentioned in the challenges. Yes there is also a “guru” selection part of the competition, which is based more on quality, But overal the entire competition aspect of the app is kinda bad..

New voting mode is just silly.
Having to select pictures on basis of what is basicaly an icon (less than a square inch) makes no sense.
This way using the app makes no sense at all any longer.

For better or worse?
It seems like my uploaded picture have a very low quality. I did not have this issue before the update. Also, the app is stuck with the loading circle multiple times during the ahort use.
